Looking for brunch or lunch in Amsterdam with something more interesting than the usual eggs and toast? At Miri Mary, our weekend daytime menu brings regional Indian flavours to De Pijp through sharing plates, comforting dishes and creative brunch favourites.
Join us from Friday to Sunday, 10:30 to 15:00, for dishes such as Butter Chicken Benny, Goan Ros Omelette, Chaat Hummus and Mango Lassi Pancakes. Come for a relaxed meal with friends, a weekend date or a long lunch on our terrace.
What Makes Weekend Brunch at Miri Mary Different?
Our daytime menu takes inspiration from regional Indian cooking rather than treating brunch as a separate style of food. The result is a mix of familiar comfort, layered spices and dishes made for sharing.
- Our chefs cook the food they grew up with, not a flattened “Indian menu” built for tourists — every dish on this page points back to an actual region, not a generic curry-house shortcut.
- Vegetarian and vegan aren't side notes here. Several of our most-ordered dishes are built meat-free from scratch, not a sad substitution bolted onto someone else's recipe.
- The terrace is leafy, heated when the Dutch weather demands it, and dog-friendly — A comfortable place to stay for another drink or an unhurried afternoon.
- Bring a group. Everyone orders whatever they want off the same menu — no set menu, no minimum spend, no compromise dish picked for the table. For bigger tables or private dining, see our events & catering page.
Must-Try Brunch & Lunch Dishes at Miri Mary
Not sure where to begin? These dishes are a good introduction to the daytime menu:
- Butter Chicken Benny (Murg Makhani Toast) — toasted brioche, spiced chicken tikka, a poached egg, and makhani sauce holding it all together. This is the dish people come back for.
- Floating Cheese Omelette in Coconut Sauce (Goan Ros Omelette and Poee) — goat cheese folded into a spiced Goan coconut gravy, served with warm poee bread.
- Chaat Hummus with Devilled Egg (Channa Chaat with Khakara) — hummus piled with spiced vegetables and a devilled egg, finished with chutneys and a crisp khakhara scoop.
- Strawberry & Mango Lassi Pancakes — buttermilk pancakes topped with mango lassi, fresh strawberries, toasted coconut, and almond flakes.
- Idli & Sambar (Chennai's Special) — steamed rice cakes, a spiced lentil stew, coconut chutney. Gluten-free, and nobody misses the gluten.
Beyond the Brunch Plate
It's not just about the food. Pair your meal with a Mango Lassi — the traditional Indian yogurt drink, made fresh — or go for something with a kick: a cardamom-spiced mimosa, or a gin and tonic finished with a hint of rosewater. The full list is on our cocktails & drinks page.
Brunch & Lunch, Answered
Is brunch the same as lunch at Miri Mary?
Yes. We serve one daytime menu from Friday to Sunday, 10:30 to 15:00, whether you visit for breakfast, brunch or lunch.
Do you take walk-ins for brunch or lunch?
If we've got the space, yes — for brunch and lunch alike, since it's the same booking. This slot fills up fast on a sunny weekend though, so book ahead if you can, particularly for bigger groups.
Is there a proper vegetarian or vegan option, not just a side dish?
Yes. Several of our most-ordered dishes, including the Idli & Sambar and the Floating Cheese Omelette, are vegetarian by design, not a meat dish with something left out.
